100+ Articles on radio FM4

Although the lion’s share of my work was meant to engage one’s ears rather than one’s eyes, I’ve always collected way more material than I’d need for a single radio show.

For this reason, some of my favourite stories ended up on the cutting room floor, where they would languish forever if it weren’t for the short articles we were expected to write to promote and accompany our shows. Now, if, sometimes, I put as much effort into these articles as I put into the radio shows themselves, it was because I loved these stories, and I wanted you to have the chance to love them too.

Below are some of my favourites.

“A visit to the ‘Land of the Faroes’”
// Faroe Islands (2021)

“How blind astronomers discover things their sighted colleagues missed” (2019)

“Beyond Darwin”
// Galapagos Islands (2017)

“The Book You Dream of Reading”
// Iceland Writers Retreat, Reykjavik (2015)

“From the Outside, Looking in”
// Myanmar (2011)

“A Giant Leap: Humankind’s great next adventure” // Starmus Festival (2019)

“On Board the MS Aquarius rescue ship”
